PhD Bibliography

Probably of zero interest to anyone besides myself, this page will be a collection of the citations essential for my PhD thesis, organized roughly by year and category, with a small blurb to help me remember what I got out of the paper.

Drosophila Proventriculus Anatomy

  1. The Drosophila proventriculus lacks stem cells but compensates for age-related cell loss via endoreplication-mediated cell growth (Ewen-Campen, 2026). This paper shows that the PV4 cells do not contain a stem-cell niche, but rather consist of endocycling cells that increase their ploidy as the fly ages to keep up wiht increased metabolic demands from PM synthesis. I mainly like this paper for the identification of new driver lines for the interior of the PV.
